California Coastal Conservancy
Integrated Ocean Observing System
Central and Northern California Ocean Observing System

Funding for developing the infrastructure for COCMP was provided by the California Coastal Conservancy and the California Water Resources Control Board with funds from two vote-approved bond measures: the California Clean Water, Clean Air, Safe Neighborhood Parks, and Coastal Protection Act of 2002 (Proposition 40) and the Water Security, Clean Drinking Water, Coastal and Beach Protection Act of 2002 (Proposition 50).

COCMP’s operational funding in northern California, including the San Francisco State University component, is provided by the US Integrated Ocean Observing System (IOOS) via a sub-award from Central and Northern California Ocean Observing System (CeNCOOS).
